My team and I were tasked with designing a system for securely transferring a surgical
instrument to an autoclave for sterilization. We worked in different subteams, one that was responsible for designing a computer program for controlling the movement of a robotic arm to pick up and transfer a container for sterilization. The second subteam, which i was a part of, was responsible for designing the container such that it can securely hold a surgical instrument in place during transfer. We were responsible for identifying a way to transfer the surgical tool, designing the container to hold the tool, a computer program to operate the robotic arm used to move the container and then demonstrate the functionality of our design in a design interview.
